Meet the Board
Kenya Colvin, MBS
President & Founder
Kenya Colvin earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduating, Kenya soon began working as a medical scribe at Kim Kelly Pediatrics. As a scribe, she began to see how prevalent childhood obesity was in her community and the lack of accessible resources to address it.
While continuing part-time at the practice, Kenya earned her Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. During graduate school she had the opportunity to research the disparities in childhood obesity treatment for Black and Hispanic communities as well as the complex nature of obesity itself.
From her research in childhood obesity treatment and seeing the rate of children with obesity exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Conduit to Health was born. Kenya is dedicated to reducing the disparities in childhood obesity treatment in minority communities and helping families to develop a sustained healthy lifestyle.
In addition to volunteering her time with Conduit to Health, Kenya is actively involved in her church, From the Heart Church Ministries, as the head of the Nursing Ministry. She also strengthens her artistic side as a member of the Fine Arts and Creative Dance ministries.
Kenya enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending anything art related, and turning any day into an adventure.
